How To Get Into The Autumn Spirit

Today I'm going to share with you my favorite ways to get into the autumn/fall spirit!

Autumn Candle:
As I'm sure you guys know my favorite candle ever is Yankee Candle's Fireside Treats! An American alternative is Bath and Body Works' Marshmallow Fireside but I'm sure most candle companies would have a similar scent. If you live in America I envy you though because Bath and Body Works has so many amazing autumn candles! I've also heard that Target has some really nice ones too. For all my UK readers I'd recommend checking out Asda's candles because those are really nice and cheap!

Cozy Music:
If you've watched any of my more personal videos over on my Youtube channel then you would know that I am obsessed with Christmas and Disney music. (I'm actually listening to Christmas music while writing this!) I love how cosy they both are so it's perfect for this time of year. I realize that it's a bit early for Christmas music so maybe wait a couple more months for that but you can listen to Disney music all year round. My favorite place to listen to it is 8Tracks. You don't even have to make an account, you can just put Disney in the search bar and it will come up with a bunch of different Disney playlists!

Virtual Fireplace:
It can be slightly dangerous to have an actual fire in your room or it could be too hot where you live which is why I love virtual fireplaces. I have an app on my iPad and I've been known to search on youtube for fireplaces.. My favorite sound is the crackling of a fire which is why I am so excited for bonfire night! I've also been known to light my Fireside Treats candle at the same time so then you have the sound and smells of a real fire. (Why am I such a loser?!)

Comfy Clothes:
The stores are filled with different kinds of berry, orange, and green shades at the moment and I've definitely gotten quite a few autumnal clothes in the past couple of weeks. Even if you can only get one or two things that will make you feel a lot more autumnal. The perfect cosy outfit is an autumnal sweater, leggings, boots, a scarf, and a messy bun!

Festive Drink:
One of the nicest things to do is walk around the park drinking a hot chocolate, I really recommend doing that at least once this year. Starbucks and Costa always have amazing seasonal drinks but my favorite is a Chai Latte. I love them iced or hot and even though they are served all year round they definitely have a spice flavor that is perfect for this time of year.

Book/Movie:
Another one of the nicest things to do is pop a candle and some twinkly lights on and read a book or watch a movie. I'm not into horror movies or halloween movies but I do want to watch Frankenweenie and The Nightmare Before Christmas this year. Last week I saw Maze Runner: Scorch Trials and whenever I see a book that's turned into a movie I always re-read the books. So I'm currently re-reading the whole Maze Runner series and loving it so much, I really recommend it!

What is your favorite way to get into the autumn spirit?

  1. Chai latte is my fave too. You've made me want to go out and buy some new twinkly lights. Redecorating my room soon and have been searching Pinterest for reading corners - they have some amazing ones x
