How To Veganise Your Favorite Cupcakes

Today I wanted to share with you guys how I've been "veganising" my favorite cake/cupcakes! You can easily do this with any recipe or cake mix you want to use. You just might have to play around with the recipe a bit!

I personally always use a Betty Crocker cake mix because we all know I am way too lazy to make cupcakes from scratch. Today I used her devil's food cake mix and chocolate fudge icing, not all of her items are vegan so always double check!  The Betty Crocker recipe is super simple, all you need is eggs, water, and oil. I'm currently using Orgran No Egg Egg Replacer, to replace one egg you mix 2 tsps of the powder and 2 tbsps of water. I found that my cupcakes were a bit oily so I'd recommend adjusting the amount of liquids you mix in with the egg replacer. I don't think the egg replacer acts exactly the same as eggs so just eyeball it and if it looks right then use less liquid. Other than that you can mix and bake as normal. They tasted amazing, just like "normal" cupcakes! If you wanted to bake cupcakes from scratch you could use the Orgran Egg Replacer, some vegan butter, your favorite nonvegan recipe and you'd be good to go!

Do you have any tips for vegan baking? I'd love to hear them down below!

  1. This is so cute! I never even thought that boxed mixes would be vegan, thanks for the tip! I recently tried 3tbsp aquafaba as an egg replacer in a bread recipe (if you haven't heard of it, it's the liquid that's in a chickpea can), and I thought it might turn out really weird but it actually worked amazingly well! I guess it all comes down to the recipe, haha. Nice post :)
